Skips Central Coast – Frequently Asked Questions – All You Need To Know 

We have a range of skip bin sizes for most types of rubbish removal on the Central Coast, for the small clean up to large clean outs. Skip and Bin Hire can supply 2, 3, 4, 6, and 8 cubic meter skip bins and as large as 14 cubic metre skip for bulky goods. Some sizes have rear doors available for easy loading. What’s included in the price of a skip?

Our helpful staff are here to help with your skip inquiry. Our phone operator may ask for your address or what size skip suits your rubbish removal needs. The operator may also enquire how long do you need the skip for, our hire period is usually 7 days.

With this information you will be quoted a competitive price.

 

We do not provide bins for Asbestos and/or Fibro.

Materials we DO NOT accept are :-

  • food scraps
  • liquid wastes
  • dangerous chemicals
  • acids and poisons
  • needles and syringes
  • Gas Bottles
  • Explosives

Any other environmentally unfriendly substances or objects likely to cause harm or damage.

To dispose of these materials please contact your local Council.

 

How much can I put in my skip bin?

For safety and legal reasons, skip bins should not be filled any higher than the rim.
All Bins should be loaded carefully in order to avoid any spillage during transit.
In the event that a driver arrives to collect your skip and it has been overfilled, we reserve the right to remove some of the contents and/or charge an extra amount for the excess waste.

 

What can I put in the skip bin?

Think you have asbestos?

 

If your house or building was built pre 1980, more than likely some form of asbestos may exist. You will need to have a suitably qualified persons inspect and supply you with a report.
Asbestos can be contained in some fibro, other cement sheeting especially where found in the bathrooms and under eaves of the house. For further information please click here.

 

Can I mix the load?

Yes, you can take mixed wastes in the bins, however, different rates may apply. Rates for green waste, household rubbish, concrete bricks and soil are all different. It is much cheaper if skips contain 100% of a singular product for recycling. Call us to find out more and save.

 

What can I put in the skip?

You can place anything in the bin except those prohibited by your Local Councils or EPA:

  • No Asbestos
  • Tyres
  • Batteries
  • Liquids
  • Chemicals
  • Gas Bottles or other prescribed or liquid wastes
For information regarding the disposal of the above items, please contact your Local Council for advise on disposal.
The following products can be placed in skips by arrangement only:
Mattresses, Large trunks/stumps, cocas palms, synthetic turf and soil.

 

What happens if I overload the skip?

Where possible, the driver will try to take the skip, extra charges may apply for waste over and above the rim.
If possible the driver will remove any overloaded item(s) from the top of the skip down to the rim or to a safe level. As another alternative you may be asked to remove the waste to a safe level before the skip is collected.

 

How long can I keep the skip bin?

Bin Hire period, usually up to 7 days. If you finish with the skip bin sooner, simply call us and we will collect the skip. However, if you have not finished with the bin within the seven day hire period please contact us ASAP to make alternative arrangements. Please note additional fees may apply for extended hire times.

  • Liquid paints or liquids.
  • Gas bottles.
  • Chemicals.
  • Tyres.
  • Illegal substances or weapons.

 

If any of the above items are found in the skip bin, additional fees and charges will apply or return to site policy may apply.

PLEASE NOTE: FOR TRANSPORTATION SAFETY REASONS…

Items must NOT be placed higher than the rim of any skip or bin and must NOT protrude past the sides of the skip or bin.

Skips or bins will not be picked-up if this occurs.
